Roses for Thanksgiving
This year our roses lasted unusually late into the fall season. We're keeping them in a cool place hoping they last until Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

Night-blooming Cereus
The trick with these is to know which night they are going to bloom and then remember to stay up late enough to see the show. The next morning is tooooo late!

Angel Trumpet (Brugmansia)
Our friend, Clyde Cannon, gave us this start from his brugmansia about four years ago. Mary's Gardeners frequently exchange plants from their own gardens with each other and if historically appropriate, bring starts to Mary's Garden.

This large patio at The Inn at Perry Cabin (an historic site) is surrounded by a dazzling display of plants and flowers in containers.
Weekend Getaway in St. Michael's
We enjoyed a very relaxing couple of days over on the Eastern Shore with John's brother, Click, and sister-in-law, Sally, from Cleveland, Ohio.

APVA Champagne Reception

Each Thursday, after working in George Washington's mother's garden, (affectionately referred to as "Mary's Garden"), we head straight over to the 2400 Diner for a refreshing glass of iced tea and lunch.
